It seemed that the only way to win this week was by an innings! And all the results were topsy-turvy: after Durham’s collapse to bottom-of-the-table Lancashire last week, they beat second-place Somerset by an innings; while previously unbeatable Surrey lost twenty wickets for just over half the runs Hampshire made with just six wickets down.

I travelled down to Taunton to watch England women play Pakistan this weekend, but in the event a series of heavy showers meant we only got to watch seven overs of play. The weather spoilt a lot of county cricket too, and I was glad Durham got their game wrapped up early – that also meant I got to listen to bits and pieces of a number of other games, which was a treat.

No more county championship cricket for a few weeks, so I’ll take a break from making these info packs and be back when the red ball returns.
