England 167-3

Nick Compton was out for 45 to the final ball of the session, caught by Bavuma off Rabada who ran up and threw the smaller man over his shoulder in celebration. I’ve enjoyed Compton’s batting this session, though. Early on the Guerilla Cricket commentators were questioning his ability against the spinners, but I thought he was getting down the wicket confidently and looking solid; and then the next over he hit a couple of elegant boundaries and launched Dane Piedt back over his head for a straight six. It’s easy to forget, when he spends so much time blocking and leaving, that he is a really skillful stroke player too.
